Description
It is that time of year again when Lake Superior smokes. It is the time when the water temperatures of lake are colder than the air. Lake Superior is about 38 degrees and the air this day was below zero. This is what we call winter on the lake. Lake Superior is the last of the Great Lakes to freeze since it is so deep. The smoke stacks get moved around by the wind and the smoke helps create more clouds above the lake and helps cause lake effect snow. It is all part of the season of winter.
